Okay, so picture this: Seagate just dropped this massive 4TB Expansion Card for Xbox Series X|S. It’s like they thought, “How can we charge $499.99 and still have people queue up for it?” I don’t know who needs this much storage, but here we are. Gamers have been juggling the 1TB and 2TB versions for a bit now, and here’s me wondering if these monster games will let us breathe without constantly deleting stuff. Seriously, one game can hit 400GB. That’s bonkers, right? I remember when a 500MB game seemed huge.
This card lets you stack your Xbox with all the games your heart desires, and you know how it goes with updates – there’s always that anxiety about running out of space. Been there. It’s like Seagate’s giving us a lifeline. Just me or does anyone else get annoyed when your game won’t update ’cause there’s no room left?
So, these cards are pretty slick – blend right in with your Xbox Series X|S, like they were meant for each other. And oh, you can game straight from this drive. No transferring nonsense. I swear, they’ve got a good thing going here. Maybe that explains the high price tag. You gotta pay for convenience, I suppose.
The backward compatibility sounds nice too. Games supposedly run better than they did on older consoles. I guess that’s a win? I just want my games not to lag. Not much to ask, I think.
And yeah, it costs an arm and a leg – $499.99 isn’t pocket change. But hey, Best Buy’s shaving off $70 at launch, which kinda helps. They’re also on Amazon, Argos, and other places if you’re in the UK. Imagine the cost being the same as a whole Xbox Series X and way more than a Series S. Wild.
Follow gaming news somewhere – not going to tell you what to do, but Tom’s Hardware has the scoop if you want it.
