Alright, so I don’t know about you, but I’ve been waiting for this Resident Evil 9 thing forever. It’s like, seriously, what’s the holdup? Insiders have been teasing us left and right, and I’m here just twiddling my thumbs. But hey, today it finally happened. Sort of. I think.
So, during today’s Summer Game Fest—wasn’t really paying attention, but something caught my ear—I think it was Capcom with their big ol’ announcement. Jun Takeuchi shows up, does a little wave, and basically says, “Yo, thanks for being awesome fans, more news soon.” Which kinda made me think, okay, another tease. But no, wait—right at the end, bam! Surprise!
Then, there’s this freaky little trailer, and oh boy, Resident Evil 9 is apparently called Resident Evil Requiem. Sounds fancy, huh? And let me tell you, it looks like it’s dialing up the spooky, kind of like that Biohazard vibe—but, uh, scarier? Maybe. Anyway, mark your calendars for February 27, 2026. That’s the magic date.
Now, Capcom’s been sneakily dropping hints in their videos—did you catch it? I totally missed it, but whatever. It’s supposed to be a big leap for the series, though, honestly, I’ll believe it when I see it. Leaks, schmleaks. Who knows what it’ll actually look like at the end?
So, yeah, Capcom’s been in the game for ages now, and I’m kinda betting it’ll be the horror-action mix we’re all dreaming of, with all the bells and whistles. But who am I kidding? There’s still a lot we don’t know. It’s in the works for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, so, you know, the usual platforms.
Anyway, keep your eyes peeled. More info’s bound to pop up before it hits the shelves next year. Can’t wait! Or, well, maybe I can? Either way, bring on those jump scares!
