Okay, so here’s the thing. I was watching the Future Games Show, and right smack in the middle of it, nDreams Elevation just drops this VR game called Reach. Like, imagine mixing parkour with fighting giant monsters. Yep, it’s as wild as it sounds.
This game is nDreams Elevation’s first shot at making something. They just kicked off in 2022, so you could say they’re the new kids on the block, trying to make a splash. And boy, they’re going all out, claiming it’s their “most ambitious” creation. Seriously, why not start with something low-key, right? But no, they’re going big or going home.
So, this action-adventure thing? It’s just you, solo, against the world on all the major VR gadgets (and some future tech I probably haven’t even heard of yet). It’s like you’re in your own action movie. Diving, climbing, zip-lining—now that’s the juicy part. Remember Fracked and Synapse? Kind of like that, but on steroids.
Oh, the trailer. Wow. Picture jumping around like you’re in a superhero flick. The devs are all “players will master tools,” and I’m sitting here thinking, “Gee, I can’t even master my TV remote.” But they’re hyping up this world where every little thing you do makes a difference. Speaking of hype, they’re teasing more details on June 10th at the VR Developer Direct show. Mark your calendar, I guess?
And yeah, Shuhei Yoshida—aka Shu, the big shot from Sony—was giving his thumbs up to Reach. If anyone’s endorsement means business, it’s his. He’s all impressed with the game’s immersion. Like, he played it and had his mind blown. Honestly, kinda wish I had that experience.
Meanwhile, Glenn Brace, the head honcho at nDreams Elevation, is out here talking about making players feel like they’re really living it. Present, powerful, all that jazz. They’ve been working on pushing VR into whole new territories.
Oh, and by the way, if you’re itching to throw this on your wishlist, it’s up there on places like the Horizon Store for Quest, PlayStation Store for PSVR 2, and of course, Steam for us PC VR folks. Just saying.
