Oh, man. So, Doug Jung—you know, the guy who wrote Star Trek Beyond in 2016—is apparently gonna take the reins for this new Mass Effect TV show. I can’t help but wonder, did he even play the game? Maybe he did. Or didn’t. Hard to say.
Deadline dropped this news nugget, saying Jung’s not just writing but also running the whole show. I mean, he’s got his hands full, right? This dude also scribbled down The Cloverfield Paradox in 2018 and a couple of episodes for that creepy Mindhunter Netflix series. Anyone else miss that vibe? Anyway—no, wait—besides all that, he’s working on this Apple+ thing, Chief of War. Historical drama, because why not?
He’s also snagged an executive producer spot. Dan Casey’s in the mix, as well as Michael Gamble from EA, the folks behind Mass Effect. Feels like a crowded room, but hey, more the merrier?
Amazon put a stamp on this TV show project back in November 2024. Or was it 2021? Whatever. It’s greenlit, that’s for sure. But when are we actually watching it? Who knows? Seems like they’re keeping it a mystery.
Oh, speaking of other shows, they launched that Fallout series. Critics ate it up like my grandma’s cookies. Season two’s dropping later this year, I think. Let’s hope it’s got the same magic.
