Hey, so the WNBA’s back for 2025 — who’d have thought time flies like this, right? Meta’s doing its thing again, streaming a pile of games on Quest. Xtadium app, Horizon Worlds NBA Arena. Sounds fancy, but we’ll get to that.
Alright, so Quest folks can catch 20 games live this season. Some of them even in 180-degree video. Nope, not making that up. Imagine watching a game and feeling like you’re in it. Kinda trippy, huh?
Anyway, these games are on Xtadium, but, oh right, it’s only in the US. They’ve got live stuff, on-demand stuff — all the bells and whistles. Oh, and you can host a private virtual watch party there. Yay for virtual friends! Or join a public one at NBA Arena over on Horizon Worlds. Is this the future? Maybe.
Starting May 27th, heads up, you can snag some WNBA avatar merch. Want that in virtual form? You got it, straight in Horizon Worlds. Digital swag for your digital self. Or whatever.
Now, the not-so-fun part: geo-restrictions. Yep, they’re in place. So, some of you may be out of luck depending on where you are. Same old story, really. You might be next to the stadium and boom, blackout. Makes no sense? Yeah, welcome to sports broadcasting.
Mark your calendar—or don’t, I won’t judge:
– May 18: Lynx vs. Sparks // 3:00 pm PT
– May 22: Liberty vs. Sky // 5:00 pm PT
– May 27: Cool Immersive Game: Sky vs. Mercury // 7:00 pm PT
– June 9: Valkyries vs. Sparks // 7:00 pm PT
– June 17: Wild Immersive Aces vs. Lynx // 5:00 pm PT
– Rest are there too, just gotta scroll, okay?
The season’s packed, no doubt. Whether you’re in it for the immersive 180-degrees or just want an excuse to throw popcorn at your VR headset — go wild with it. Anyway, here’s to a chaotic, sporting season!
