Hey, so here’s the deal. The Pokémon Company International just dropped some news that’s got me kinda excited, not gonna lie. They’ve got this new expansion coming out for Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket. It’s called “Wisdom of Sea and Sky.” Sounds cool, right? And guess what? We only have to wait until next week—specifically Wednesday 30 July 2025. Mark your calendars or, well, don’t. Who really remembers dates, anyway?
So, in this expansion, we’re getting some favorites from way back in the Johto region. You know, those lovable creatures from Pokémon Gold and Silver. Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile. Oh, and the big guns: Lugia and Ho-Oh. Speaking of which, I once tried catching Lugia with a single Poké Ball—don’t ask why—but it was a wild ride. Anyway, what was the point I was making? Ah, yes, nostalgia. It’s hitting hard.
Also, here’s a twist for the card game geeks: Pokémon now have attacks that don’t require Energy. I mean, could that shake up the whole deck-building strategy? Probably. Or maybe it’ll just make things more chaotic. Who knows?
The expansion isn’t the only thing on the radar. They’re also tweaking the Trade feature. No more trade tokens—like, goodbye to those little tokens that somehow made trading more complex. Wishlist feature incoming: you can highlight three must-have cards to show off on your profile. Practical but also a bit like shouting into the void about the cards you want. You can earn this thing called “shinedust” to trade high-rarity cards. Seems like a fair deal. Or maybe not, if grinding isn’t your thing.
But remember, if you’re hoarding trade tokens, you’ve got until 30 July at 01:00 UTC to swap ’em in the in-game shop. So hustle if that’s your jam.
By the way, if you haven’t checked out Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket yet, it’s out there in the wild on the App Store for iOS and Google Play for Android. Go take a look. Or don’t. Just know it’s out there doing its thing.
Anyway, there’s a trailer too, and it’s probably full of epic music and dramatic Pokémon shots. Standard trailer fare. Keep your eyes peeled.
That’s it from me, for now. Go catch ’em all, or just a few. Your pick.
