While Lattice and Units serve the purpose of acquiring cosmetic items, Chrono Tokens are specifically utilized for advancing through the seasonal battle pass.

Though the hero shooter has generally been well-received, the community has had mixed feelings about Chrono Tokens and the constraints they impose on progressing the battle pass since the game debuted. According to a recent tweet from the game’s official account, purchased Chrono Tokens will remain intact, but those gained through challenges will reset every season. This decision has sparked debate within the community. Some players think it’s unfair not to keep tokens between seasons as a reward for continuous play, while others agree that resetting them encourages fresh engagement with every new season. This rift is not new to the Marvel Rivals community, as a similar division arose when the developers implemented a surrender feature.

There’s also a sentiment that the developer might have missed the mark by favoring Chrono Tokens over traditional XP for leveling the battle pass.
