Meta Madness

So apparently some folks have been snooping around in the Quest’s code. Luna from Upload VR did this whole datamining deep dive (which sounds both sneaky and impressive). They unearthed some wild stuff:

• Horizon Home Revamp: Goodbye, static home. Hello, dynamic social hub. It’s like your house decided to join a party and never leave. Imagine a place where you can plop in portals to other worlds and slap on some shareable 2D windows. Wild, right?

• Horizon Worlds’ Makeover: The plaza’s getting a facelift. And your home space? Now you can spot it from a distance in the sky. Trippy.

• Events Arena: New spot for all things event-y. Concerts? Debates? Who knows? Just remember, these are all rumors. Luna did the datamining dance, so take it with a grain of eco-friendly salt.

Brilliant Labs’ New Gizmos

Mark your calendar! July 31st at 10 am PT, Brilliant Labs is unveiling their latest smartglasses. They’ve blown our minds before with Monocle and Frames. So, excitement? Yeah, pretty high. Bobak Tavangar (cofounder dude) will be doing an AMA on Reddit. So, got questions? Here’s your chance.

• Sharp’s VR Glove-Thingy: Sharp tossed a VR controller into the ring. It’s like a glove, but not really? Haptic vibrations might make your virtual world extra zingy. Pricy though, at ¥100,000 ($680ish).

• Meta’s EMG Wristband: Meta’s cooking up some wristband magic. Think hand gestures-turned-digital. Performing spells with your hands, basically.

• Google’s Demos: Word on the street is Google’s playing with glasses using Raxium microdisplays. Super techy stuff, but with one tiny problem—a yield of 1%. Google, we need 99 plus signs here!
