Dream Productions Unveils First Trailer, Expanding the Inside Out Universe Ahead of the Anticipated Third Film

Got kids obsessed with Pixar or are you a fervent fan yourself? If Inside Out 2 has been on loop at your place for the last few months, there’s some exciting news (or potentially daunting) on the horizon. Dream Productions is set to expand that beloved universe this December, and the latest trailer hints at something refreshingly unique.

Slated for a December 11 release on Disney Plus, this new series has been in the pipeline for quite some time. After Inside Out 2 shattered records earlier this year, raking in nearly $1.7 billion globally and clinching the title of the highest-grossing animated film of all time, Disney and Pixar decided to shuffle their lineup. They swapped out the original series, Win or Lose, now scheduled for early next year, for this intriguing four-episode miniseries nestled between the two Inside Out films.

According to the official synopsis, the series unfolds in the dream factory nestled within Riley’s mind, where dreams not only come true but do so punctually and cost-effectively. As Riley navigates growing up, the Core Emotions—led by Joy—task Dream Productions with processing some of her memories. Meanwhile, esteemed director Paula Persimmon, voiced by Paula Pell, faces challenges of her own. She’s tasked with crafting the next smash dream hit alongside Xeni, a daydream director aiming to step up, voiced by Richard Ayoade.

Pixar’s signature animation brilliance is evident in every frame, staying true to their commitment to quality as they delve into Disney’s streaming world. This high standard justifies the decision to create a concise four-part miniseries spanning about 82 minutes, instead of a more stretched-out TV season. In contrast, the upcoming Win or Lose seems to be a larger endeavor for Pixar.

Dream Productions plans to expand the ‘movie studio’ concept introduced in the 2015 classic.
