Oh boy, so here we are. Xbox is up to something new again—surprise, surprise. Anyway, this week they’ve got some stuff happening, starting with Xbox Insiders noticing some funky changes to Home. It’s like they’re trying to make our Home feel more like… home? Or at least more like how we want it. I dunno, maybe they’re listening to us?
So, there’s these new settings. Three of ’em. Giving you a bit more control, like you’re a DJ but for your games. It’s the recently played games and apps list that’s getting all the love this time. Let’s dive into what’s cookin’.
First up, there’s this whole “hide system apps” thing. Ever felt like your Xbox was a cluttered desk? Well, now you can shove some of those system apps out of sight. It’s like Marie Kondo for your Xbox—tidying up until only the things that spark joy are left. Games over everything, right?
Then, we’ve got “pinning favorites.” You know, like pinning that embarrassing picture on your fridge—only these are games. You choose up to three and slap them right there where you can always find them. Easy peasy. But don’t get too attached to the number; it might be three today, something else tomorrow. Xbox loves a good switcheroo.
And wait, speaking of minimal vibes, reducing tile count is coming soon. Less is more, or so they say. Getting rid of those extra tiles gives you a sleeker look. It’s sorta like trading in your cluttered Pop-Tarts selection for just the few you actually eat.
The thing is out already for the Alpha gang—like a special club, I guess. They’re getting the first taste and if they like it, the rest of us will see it roll out all proper. Xbox wants your thoughts on this, which is kinda nice. Here’s hoping they actually read ’em, and not just use them as wallpaper.
Why bother, though? Apparently, this is all because Home is supposed to feel like your personal space. You know, cozy vibes and all that jazz. Less hectic, more “this is me.” In theory, you get to dump what you don’t care about and highlight your faves. Simple as that.
Feel like sharing your thoughts? There’s always a way to shout into the void via Report a Problem or banter over at the Xbox Insiders subreddit. It’s like a community meeting but, you know, digital and with fewer cookies.
Oh, and about shaping Xbox’s future—you, my friend, are vital. Or at least, they say you are. And if you need a hand, there’s folks over in the Insider subreddit. Bunch of mods, staff, and other gamers ready to help out.
Want to get in on this? Not an Insider yet? Jump on board, it’s open to whoever wants a say in Xbox’s future. Download the Hub and you’re pretty much set. And hey, there’s always Twitter for updates. Because, why not?
