Alright, so here’s the deal. PlaySide Studios and Fumi Games just dropped some interesting news—like, during the whole Summer Game Fest chaos—which, by the way, I totally forgot was happening until now. Anyway, back to the point. They’re rolling out this funky little game called Mouse: P.I. For Hire. Yeah, a mouse detective. And guess who’s voicing the critter? Troy Baker. You probably know him from The Last of Us and, uh, that other big hit, Death Stranding. Didn’t see that coming.
Baker’s been kind of obsessed with this project since they first teased it. Says the whole old-school, film-noir vibe—think 1930s, smoky backrooms—hooked him. Honestly, it’s kind of hard not to get sucked in with a pitch like that.
Now, don’t start thinking it’s all cute and fluffy just because there’s a little mouse involved. Imagine Cuphead graphics but with a twist—like it’s on a caffeine high, running through dark alleyways of Mouseburg. Makes you wonder what went down at PlaySide Studios when they called it “gritty.” I mean, danger lurking in mouse holes? Classic.
This Jack Pepper character—yeah, that’s the mouse—isn’t your typical Disney hero. He’s seen stuff, like military stuff, before switching gears to be a detective. Typical, right? Story kicks off with him checking out a chick in trouble. Pretty noir, right? Everything goes sideways—obviously—dragging him into this crazy whirlwind of mayhem, deception, and, well, dead bodies. Why do they always have to over-complicate things?
Baker’s pretty pumped about the project—or, at least, he says he is—looking forward to bringing Jack to life. But you never really know with these guys. By 2025, we might all be in for a surprise—or not, if he spills the beans early. Who knows? Who cares? The release date’s TBA. Guess we’ll have to wait.
And that’s all she wrote, folks. Or—wait, actually, I wrote. Not a she. Whatever.
