Alright, so I’m just sitting here pondering this new Pokémon Legends: Z-A thing, right? If all those whispers and leaks are actually onto something (and let’s be real, sometimes this stuff is wilder than my Aunt Linda’s lasagna), we might see new Mega Evolutions for the starter Pokémon. Oh boy. Could be Game Freak throwing a curveball or, I dunno, trashing some of those time-honored traditions we’ve all, kinda, settled into.
Anyway, when they announced this Legends: Z-A, they were all hush-hush about what Mega Pokémon would debut. And now there’s this “leaked” list floating around—makes you wonder if they’re teasing us or just chuckling at us losing our minds. Does anyone else get stuck on these things? No? Just me?
So yeah, like in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, they tossed starter Pokémon from random generations together. This time we’ve got Chikorita, Totodile from Gen 2, and Tepig from Gen 5. All mixed up like a confused Pokémon stew. But, unlike those bygone days, no cool regional variants are roaming around. Instead, we’ve got Mega Evolutions. Guess they thought it’d shake things up. Or maybe they were just bored.
Oh, and shout-out to Legends: Arceus for the Hisuian starters—seems like Legends: Z-A is picking up that evolutionary torch and either running with it or dropping it entirely. Who knows?
Now here comes the kicker: remember Mega Evolutions from Gen 6? X and Y? Yeah, they tried to keep it balanced, which kinda worked, I guess. Think Mega Blaziken strutting solo until Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire decided to drag Swampert and Sceptile into the Mega fest. They’ve always been about reunions, huh? Like the friend who insists on group photos at every gathering.
And now, rumors, rumors, rumors. Will Z-A keep our starter trios tight-knit, offering them all a fancy Mega Evolution glow-up? Maybe. Maybe not. For every Gen 6 starter like Chesnaught, Delphox, and Greninja welcoming their Mega moments, you’ve got Emboar, Feraligatr, and Meganium hanging out on the sidelines. Uninvited to the party. Rough deal.
Legends: Arceus only dropped regional variants for its chosen few, leaving others like Gen 5’s Serperior out in the cold. Kind of a bummer, but that’s how it goes. So if Z-A pulls the same stunt, giving Mega forms only to its current starters, they’re just playing by the same quirky rules. Playing it safe? Or not. Hard to tell anymore.
But here’s the tangent—I mean thought—lingering on my mind: DLC. Legends: Arceus didn’t get any, but maybe Legends: Z-A will? Imagine them adding even more Mega Evolutions post-launch. Could be wild. Like when Sword and Shield threw Gigantamax forms at us, or Omega Ruby letting the Gen 3 starters shine. Could pave the way for forgotten ones like Slowking, Butterfree, or even Mew. Wouldn’t that be something?
Yeah, so, rambling aside, this stuff could turn the whole Pokémon tradition on its head, or just give us more fun toys to play with. Either way, you’re still stuck with me spiraling over it. Fun times.
