I remember this one time when I was just casually browsing through some gaming updates—yeah, kinda weird how I ended up with Phasmophobia. But anyway, there’s this big thing happening, I think on June 24 if my memory isn’t playing tricks on me. The game’s getting this ‘Chronicle’ update, and it’s… a complete mess, in a good way? Like, they’re planning to totally revamp the evidence collection part. Three shiny new evidence types are coming at you. There’s this new thing called ‘Sound’ evidence—y’know, because apparently ghostly whispers weren’t enough.
Man, and don’t even get me started on the Sound Recorder—three-tiered or something? How does that even work? Maybe it’s just me, but the idea of catching audio like that sounds wild. And ghosts? With Spirit Box responses and Paranormal Sounds, it’s basically a Halloween party in your headset.
Oh, and they’re ditching the Photos tab in the journal. Now, it’ll be this Media tab that’s got everything you need—photos, videos, all those spooky sound recordings. And get this: the first piece of evidence you grab is ‘Unique’. More cash, more XP. Almost like they knew we needed that, right?
There’s also a new leveling and progression setup they’re throwing in. Keeps things fresh, I guess? They’re sprucing up the main menu, too. Looks like they’re not slacking off on those bug fixes, which is always a plus. Somewhere in there, they’re planning on giving the Grafton Farmhouse a facelift. Picture updated visuals and the layout kinda shuffled around. I’m here for it.
And this all kicks off on June 24. Oh, by the way, if you’re curious, you can hit up Phasmophobia on Steam or give it a whirl on PlayStation VR2. I should probably try it myself, but…nah, I’ll let you guys test the waters first. Good luck!
