The other day, I was just casually browsing the net — looking for nothing and everything, you know how it goes — when I stumbled upon this news about Dell. And I couldn’t help but think, why do they make everything sound so shiny and irresistible? Okay, here goes my totally human take on it. Maybe not worth a Pulitzer, but who knows.
So, Dell’s got these fancy new laptops, right? They’re tossing around words like “premium” for the snazzy 14 and 16 models. Apparently, they’ve slapped ’em with the latest Arrow Lake-H thingamajigs and those RTX 50 series GPUs. Fancy words. I just hope they don’t blast off like a rocket trying to cool down.
And the screens, yeah, they’re a smidge larger—14.5 inches on the baby Dell and 16.3 inches on the honker. Bigger screens but the same old size? It’s kinda like getting more coffee without a bigger mug. More immersion, they say. Ever been immersed in a laptop? Beats me.
Anyway, so there are these processors. You got the Core Ultra 7 255H — sounds kinda like a spaceship serial number, right? It’s packing 16 cores or something like that. Oh, and you get to pick between some Intel Arc graphics or the GeForce RTX 4050. Choice is good, I guess, unless it involves choosing dinner.
And for those who like to travel light, it’s weighing in at around 1.63 to 1.72 kg. Not bad if you’re lugging it to a coffee shop. Plus, there’s this battery that supposedly goes for, like, 20 hours. I can’t even stay awake that long, but kudos to those who can!
Now, the Dell 16 Premium is for the big leagues. 27 hours of battery life? I might even make it through a long day without needing a charger. This beast comes with the RTX 5060 — once again, sounding super sci-fi. And did I mention, it’s got a Core Ultra 9 285H option too? Wonder who names these.
Pricing, yeah, let’s talk dollars. The Dell 14 Premium starts at $1,649. There’s a more tricked-out version with an RTX 4050, lots of memory, retailing at $2,249. Oh, and one with a fancypants 3.2K OLED display for $2,449. For peeps with richer-than-me budgets.
The Dell 16 Premium’s got the Core Ultra 7 255H version at $2,699, and a swankier one with the Ultra 9 for $3,049. More price tags to come, and I can’t help but wonder if these models could possibly predict stock prices given their cost. Aaaand… cut to the next upgrade.
Did I cover it all? Probably not. But hey, we’re talking laptops, not lost treasures. Unless… they are? Who really knows.
