Okay, so let’s dive into this whole Meta glasses deal. You wouldn’t believe it, but Meta and EssilorLuxottica, yeah, they teamed up again and dropped some new Oakley smart glasses. Seriously, who would’ve thought? Anyway, they’re calling them the Oakley Meta HSTN. Kinda funky name, right? (Apparently, you say it like HOW-stuhn. Who came up with that?)
So, if you’re itching to be a trendsetter or whatever, you can snag these babies on pre-order starting July 11th. But get this, the Limited Edition — because we all love exclusive stuff, right? — goes for $499. Comes with gold accents and 24K PRIZM lenses. The fanciness is over the top!
Meta says the rest of the lineup will hit stores a bit later this summer. Can’t wait? Well, you’ll have choices coming out of your ears. We’re talking six different frame and lens combos, starting at $399. Desert? Black? Brown? They’ve got you covered. PRIZM and Transitions lenses too, so whatever you’re into.
And okay, here’s where it gets all techy — these glasses? Massive battery life upgrade from the Ray-Ban Meta ones. I’ve heard up to 8 hours of use is possible. Who even wears glasses that long in one go? And there’s this new ultra-wide 12MP camera that can shoot in “3K video.” Not gonna lie, I had to Google what 3K was, but hey, it sounds impressive.
Battery life is also supposedly doubled — up to 19 hours on standby. It makes you think, do these glasses plan on living your life for you?
Plus, you get a charging case. Ray-Ban’s version offers about 32 hours, but Oakley’s pulls off up to 48. You almost feel like a spy with these kinds of specs. Five microphones included too, for calls or chatting with Meta AI — however that works — and you can blast your tunes on the sly with off-ear speakers. Eavesdropping on life, basically.
Oh, and water-resistant too, rated at IPX4. That means splashes and rain won’t ruin your day, but don’t go diving with them or anything.
They’re rolling these out in quite a few places: US, Canada, Europe, Australia… even heading later to Mexico, India, and the UAE. If you’re all hyped for these, you can sign up for updates through Meta or Oakley. ‘Cause obviously, we need more emails in our inbox, right?
