Alright, so today I somehow ended up watching the big Honkai: Star Rail 3.4 livestream. No idea why, but it happened. Right on time, by the way. If you’re into HoYoverse games, you probably get it—the new characters are the highlight, obviously. And yeah, they showed ’em off, as expected.
Now, the top story? It’s this crazy Fate/stay night collab. Apparently, Honkai: Star Rail and that fantasy visual novel—y’know, the one that got its English version just last year—are teaming up. They teased this thing way back in August. I mean, it’s been a long time coming. Almost a year later, here we are, finally.
So, I’ve got to admit, new Version 3.4 characters are pretty exciting if you’re into Fate. Saber’s making an appearance as a 5-Star Wind/Destruction character. She’s even getting her own banner. Then there’s Archer; he’s a 5-Star Quantum/Hunt dude, free for anyone logging in. And these guys won’t just be passing through; they’re here till the end of Version 3.6, which is, what, November-ish?
Oh, and then there’s Phainon. If you’ve been playing since Version 3.0, you know this dude. Major NPC turned playable character. Finally! It’s about time. He’s in the same league as those other Chrysos Heirs now—a legit 5-Star character, swinging a Physical/Destruction kit.
And…oh yeah, there’s a pile of rerun banners too. Tribbie, Sunday, Sparkle in Phase 1; Firefly, Jingliu, Blade in Phase 2. Honestly, it’s jam-packed. Kind of makes it tough to whine about no new characters in the second half, right?
And those Stellaron Hunters—the crowd-pleasers—they’re getting boosts too. Kafka, Silver Wolf, Blade, all get new tweaks, plus Firefly’s got this new outfit. Might be worth a look. Jingliu’s enhancement is happening too, but hopefully, she’s not heading down some shady road.
Mark your calendar—or whatever—for July 2nd because that’s when it all kicks off. New banners on the 23rd. If you missed the livestream, well, it’s probably floating around online somewhere.
Throwback to May, by the way, because Version 3.3 added Hyacine and brought back The Herta. Cipher dropped too. But, that whole English voice actor recast? That was a stir. SAG-AFTRA stuff and all. Protagonists had to get new voices. Man, what a saga. Dan Heng and Himeko? Still a mystery there.
Anyway, that’s all I got.
